    Hi to all,

Please find below the details for BISP, an international bilingual school based in 15th arrondissement of Paris. It is a private, independent and non-denominational school for children ages 3 to 11.

It is the only school of its kind in Paris’15th arrondissement offering a pre-school and elementary school dual language immersion program aligned with the British and French national curriculum frameworks.

    American boarding school in Paris
    Hi all,

The Notre-Dame International high school is an American private school located in Verneuil-sur-Seine, just 30 minutes away from Paris by train. This American private school is established at Notre-Dame Les Oiseaux, a school which is well-known for its excellent education (one of the best in France) for more than 80 years now!

Notre-Dame International high school actually offers an American curriculum leading to the US High School Diploma in the French environment of Notre-Dame Les Oiseaux. For the most part, courses are taught by American teachers in English, but some other courses are also taught in French, making the students become very proficient in both languages!

The campus of Notre-Dame is definitely unique: the Château de Verneuil is located in the heart of a beautiful wide park with gardens and lots of trees… so that pupils can study in a real pleasant atmosphere!

Moreover, this school offers lots of extra-curricular activities for all the students! Many clubs such as Photo, Theatre, Flamenco or Jazz for example are available. Many schools trips are also organized in France and in Europe, in order to enable students to discover various cultures.

Notre-Dame International high school’s boarding quarters’ and host families’ options are also an asset, above all for international students living far away. Host families enable them to get fully immersed in the French culture.

For further details feel free to contact me or have a look at their Website (nisparis.com)!

    Cheers!

Lycée Collège International Honoré de Balzac
In your text you claim: "International schools offer the same education provided in the child's home country." However quite a few of the schools you mention are uncontracted private schools (écoles privées hors contrat) which do not follow the French curriculum.

You have forgotten to mention the Lycée Collège International Honoré de Balzac which is the only free state international school in the Paris region.

Founded by Sylvie d’Esclaibes in 1992, Vive l’Enfance is the largest Montessori school in France. It is a private school, pre-kindergarten through grade 12 that offers an international educational program to students of all nationalities. It is located 20 km to the west from Paris, in a leafy area close to Versailles, near the head offices of many multi-national companies and with quick access to Paris.
The Lower school (nursery, primary-5) offers a bilingual Montessori education with an English teacher in the morning and a French teacher in the afternoon. All teachers are Montessori trained. The classes are small and we use a style of teaching where each child is in control of his own learning process.
The Middle and Upper schools propose a bilingual program of instruction in French and English within the French national curriculum. Students can study history, language and literature in English (six to eight hours a week by teachers whose mother tongue is English), as well as other languages (Spanish and Chinese).
The school makes every effort to integrate new students and every year welcomes children who speak neither English nor French. Tailor-made (even one-to-one) classes for non French speaking students, enabling them to master French (or English) very quickly, without ever experiencing a feeling of failure.
Many sports and a range of artistic activities. Highly qualified teachers always ready to listen to the students. Parents are encouraged to take part in school life.
Adien d’Esclaibes, the headmaster, is a Harvard Graduate (MCRP 78).
    Exams offered :
    SAT 1 & 2,
    I.G.C.S.E (history, language, literature, French),
    Baccalauréat S & ES
International recognition : the school is an exam center for the London Examinations Board (Edexcel) and for the Cambridge University Local Examinations Syndicate

Open Doors : English Classes for English-Speaking Children
Open Doors provides English literacy classes for English-speaking children. We are based in the western suburbs of Paris and have been operating since 1985. Our classes are compatible with the French school timetable and all our pupils attend French school. Over 80 children, aged 4-11 years old, are currently enrolled. We limit the teacher/pupil ratio to 1 to 10. We employ only qualified primary school teachers who are native English speakers. They have wide experience of both an anglophone education system and bilingual children. All nationalities are welcome but good spoken English is required. Open Doors is a non-profit making association run by parents. Fees are kept to a minimum. There are both nursery classes and primary school classes.
