Hello! One of the first things to do when settling in Denmark is to find a home. In order to rent a flat/apartment or house you should familiarize yourself with the area, determine where you want to live, and evaluate what you need. Consider access to shops, schools, transport, and work. If you have already been through the process of selecting a home in Denmark, you can provide valuable advice on how and why you selected your home, and provide tips for people moving to your area. How did you find your accommodation? Estate agent or classifieds? Did you use a website? Or did you find your place through friends or word-of-mouth? What do you recommend? Was it quick to find or did it take a long time? What are the essential points you considered (transport, schools, shops… etc). How much is the average price of accommodation? What are the costs involved for renting? Do you need a deposit? Guarantees? What are the formalities and the contract requirements in Denmark? Are there important clauses members should consider? Is there an inventory? What are the conditions for leaving or giving notice? Please offer your advice or questions! This is a tricky step in moving abroad and personal advice, mistakes to avoid and things to consider are extremely helpful. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!
Rent an appartement in copenhagen - take care ! Hello, I' d like to warn about a bad estate agency in Copenhagen : Qmanagement or Qhome !!! This agency is really dishonest. The staff doesn't give the deposit back and never answers mails or letters. If you're looking for a place to rent, don't ask them ! Bob (France)
Re: Rent an ppartement in copenhagen - take care ! What exactly happened to you? Can you tell us more about your story?
Re: Rent an ppartement in copenhagen - take care ! The agency never gave us our deposit back. They charged us with the price of a few things they pretended they had to buy because of us (ex : new pans, a curtain for the shower and...a new sofa !). We agreed on a few points but denied others and asked them to show us the receipts of their purchases. They refused to do so. And the so called purchases didn't amount to our deposit anyway. Since last January, we've sent them e.mails and lettres but they refuse to answer. They just play on the fact that they rented their apartment to French people and that it's going to be hard for us to get our money back..
Re: Rent an appartement in copenhagen - take care ! That's indeed very strange. They should at least show you the receipts or elements you requested. There might be a possibility that they charge a little more to handle the case of replacing things, but not a huge amount. So what are you going to do know (I mean except complaining here and there on the Internet) ?
